This summer the Kit Carson FFA Chapter had the privilege to go to the Colorado State FFA Convention. It was an exciting time for many and a first for some of our new members. We saw beautiful scenery on the way up to Craig, Colorado going through the mountains. We stayed at the Taylor Street Bed & Breakfast, hosted by a very nice couple, Gary and Diana Cook. They fixed tasty food for us each morning and were very pleasant to be around. This was a great new experience for most of us.
At the sessions we got to hear the inspiring words from the key note speakers Josh Sundquist and Craig Conrad who have talked at many places across the US, changing the lives of everyone they come in contact with. We cheered on many of our friends from other chapters as they received their awards. Our own Kristyn Dickey received her State Degree, the highest honor of our state. It was great seeing one of our own up on stage. Also, two of our past graduates, Brock Chamberlain and Logan Mitchek will be receiving their American Degree this October at National FFA Convention.
We are very proud of our members and hope they succeed in this year’s activities!!!
