Turkey…basketball…ham…basketball…celebrating…basketball….from now until the New Year this is what our lives will consist of.  Yes, it is that time of year again in Wildcat Country.  BASKETBALL SEASON!

The action is already well underway.  Our Junior High teams had an impressive showing at the Knights of Columbus tournament to kick off the season.  The Junior High girls came away with a FIRST place finish while the boys ended with an impressive third place showing.  The Lady Wildcat Boys and Girls are getting whipped into shape by Coach Crawford and Coach Trahern.  They will kick off their seasons traveling to Bethune on Friday December 4th.  If you are not up for the road trip they will make their home debut on Saturday December 5th.  Come out to support our Wildcats and enjoy the Christmas Bazaar activities.  The games for Jr. High and High school start at 2:00 p.m. that day.

If you missed the opportunity to adopt your favorite Wildcat during the fall season--do not fear!  Any and all of your Wildcats are up for adoption all winter long!  Please see Karla Ball, Marianna Mitchek, or Brenda Smith to participate in the Adopt-A-Wildcat program.

KC Booster Club is currently looking for sponsors for the autographed team basketballs.  If you are interested in sponsoring one of the team basketballs please let one of your Booster Club officers knowJ

Well, I had a deadline…so I unfortunately, I cannot report the outcome of the Honor Band Tryouts that took place on Friday November, 20.  Mr. Chapman accompanied 10 of our Wildcat musicians to the tryouts, and I heard from a reliable source that they performed exemplary!  Come and join the Kit Carson Wind Ensemble at their annual Winter Concert.  It is sure to be an entertaining evening.  The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday December 15.

Congratulations to the following Lady Wildcat Volleyball players for post season honors:  Cassia Kent and Brian Medford first team All League; Chelsea Dickey second team.  Briana Medford was selected to play in the CCGS All State Games on Sunday November 22, 2009.  Good job and Congratulations girls!  We also just received word on post season football honors. Charlie Johnson made All-Conference and Auston Randolph made Honorable Mention. Nice work boys!

This is a busy, but an exhilarating time of year in Wildcat country.  I am sure that I cannot remember everything in my monthly updates, so please watch the daily bulletin or log onto the school website at kcsdr1.org to keep up to date and in the know on all the many activities coming up….

Happy Thanksgiving—hope to see you soon.
